Programme:

Chapter 0. Introduction (from March 9th to March 16th)
This chapter deals with all the tools that we will use in our MOOC. We choose to base our MOOC on Moodle. We have a forum to exchange with the teachers. If you have any technical troubles, do not hesitate to ask any questions on the forum or by sending a email to the teacher teams.
A small introduction to learn the language Python3 is given. All the practices in this MOOC will be done in this language.

Chapter 1. Interval Computation (from March 16th to March 23th)
The goal of Chapter 1 is to introduce all the mathematics related to interval analysis. After this chapter, you should be able to compute with uncertain numbers represented by intervals and also to approximate a set by subpavings, i.e., union of boxes. During the practice we will implement the interval calculus under a Python environment.

Chapter 2. Set inversion (from March 23th to March 30th)
Many problems of engineering such as parameter estimation, tuning of a controller, etc., can be cast into a set inversion problem. In this chapter, we will define the notions of set inversion and illustrate these notions on some examples. An algorithm for solving any set inversion problems will be given. This algorithm named SIVIA (Set Inverter Via Interval Analysis) will be proposed. This algorithm will be implemented in Python and some testcases will be solved.

Chapter 3. Contractors (from March 30th to April 6th)
A contractor is an operator which takes as an input a box X and contracts it into a subbox Y without removing a single solution of the problem. Contractors are necessary to solve efficiently problems containing a large number of unknowns. This chapter introduce the notion of contractor and explains how they can be implemented in Python.

Chapter 4. Application to robot localization (from April 6th to April 13th)
This chapter considers a problem of localization inside a environment with landmarks. No lessons and no exercises are given, only on long problem decomposed into a list of questions with an increasing complexity.

Chapter 5. Award (April 14th)
All participants who succeed the exercice will recieped a certificate of participation and succes.
